Rules of Good Practice
- Follow the marked trails so as to avoid being lost or unintentionally disturbing the animals of the area.
- Do not light fires or throw your cigarettes anywhere in the forest. In case of fire, immediately notify the Fire Service and the Information Center.
- Keep the Forest clean. Always carry a bag to collect your garbage and use the provided bins.
- Keep in mind that you are in a place where birds and other animals live! Avoid music and loud voices so as to increase the chance of meeting them in person!
- Avoid cutting flowers or wounding the tree barks as you may unknowingly cut one of the rarest protected plants of the area.
- In case you are a hunter, hunting is prohibited throughout the year for all species within the strictly protected zones of the National Park. In the rest of the areas the general and specific hunting regulations apply, which you should be aware of, if you wish to practice hunting.
- Should you notice any illegal activity harmful to the natural environment, immediately notify the Information Center or the Forest Service of Soufli.
- Do not let your four-legged friends loose.
- Supervise children to prevent any accidents.
- Riding motorbikes and bicycles is not allowed on the trails.
- Closely follow the instructions of the people in charge of the Information Centre of the Management Body all along your tour.
- Access to the trails is possible all year round. Excluding fire prevention period (1 May – 31 October) when the fire risk index is 3,4 or 5. The fire risk index is updated every day for the next one and is available on the websites of the Civil Protection Service and the Management Body.
